Symptoms of ALCOHOLIC KETOACIDOSIS


The symptoms associated with alcoholic ketoacidosis vary according to the severity. Nausea, vomiting, and generalized abdominal pain and tenderness are common. Confusion and light headedness occur. Superimposed on this disorder, the individual may develop delerium tremens or Wernicke-Korsakoff's syndrome. Agitation increases and confusion worsens. There are problems with memory. Heart rate and breathing rate continue to increase. Stupor and coma may occur.
