Symptoms of BULIMIA
Bulimia includes frequent episodes of binge eating (rapid consumption of a large amount of food in a short time, usually less than 2 hours), plus at least 3 of the following: high-calorie, convenience foods during a binge, binge eating is done secretly, awareness that the eating pattern is abnormal, and fear of having no control over it, ending the episode of binge eating with purging, such as laxative use or self-induced vomiting, depression, and guilt. Bulimics try frequently to lose weight with starvation dieting, self-induced vomiting and use of laxatives, and diuretics. Weight fluctuations greater than 10 pounds from alternately fasting and gorging is also common. There is no underlying physical disorder.
