Symptoms of FECAL IMPACTION
Symptoms include the absence of normal bowel movements. A fullness in the rectum is felt, but there is an inability to pass stool. Occasionally, there is urinary incontinence or the lack of urinary control. A firm mass may be felt in the lower left abdomen. Fecal impaction often develops slowly without discomfort, but lower abdominal pain can develop. A thin, watery discharge from the rectum may occur. Nausea, vomiting, and the loss of appetite may occur.
