Symptoms of GRIEF


Symptoms include expressions of grief: sadness, numbness, pain, anger, despair, guilt, sudden crying spells, hallucinations (such as a sense of having seen or heard the dead person), anxiety, depression, unwillingness to accept the loss; for example, maintaining the dead person’s room or clothing as if he or she is expected to return, insomnia, nervousness, hyperactivity, gastrointestinal problems, tiredness, agitation, tearfulness, increased intake of alcohol, tranquilizers and other drugs is common (but may cause problems).
