Symptoms of STRESS
Physical symptoms of stress include muscle tension and headache. Chest discomfort or pain, rapid heart beat and rapid breathing can all occur with stress. Nausea, upset stomach, increased or decreased appetite, diarrhea or constipation are also symptoms that can be brought on by stress. Profuse sweating, cold clammy hands, and rashes may also develop. Stress may also produce fatigue, shaking, tics, jumpiness, and dizziness.
Emotional symptoms of stress include anger, low self-esteem, depression, apathy, irritability, fear and phobic responses, difficulty concentrating, guilt, worry, agitation, anxiety, and panic.
Behavioral symptoms of stress include alcohol or drug abuse, increase in smoking, sleep disorders, overeating, memory loss, and confusion.
