Symptoms of ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATION (AVM)
Headaches which tend to occur in the same location are sometimes associated with arteriovenous malformations. If the blood vessels break, the surrounding brain may be injured, leading to paralysis, speech problems, coma or death.
Over long periods of time the ischemia, or inadequate blood supply to the tissues immediately around the AVM, may produce dysfunction of the brain. This may become manifested as a seizure disorder.
