Symptoms of HEMATURIA
Hematuria may be painless. It may be associated with burring pain in the penis or vagina. If pain is present, there may be pain in the lower abdomen or flank depending on whether an infection of the bladder or kidney is present. Coagulation disorders that prevent normal blood clotting can produce hematuria. There is often bleeding and easy bruising in other locations. Bleeding associated with prostate problems in men may have features of difficulty urinating. Infections that produce hematuria may have frequent need to urinate. There may be fever and chills. Tumors of the urinary system may produce pain localized to the region involved as well as difficulties with urination. Stones in the urinary tract can produce severe pain in the flank, lower abdomen and genitals. Difficulty with urination can occur. Sudden low back pain, flank pain and hematuria can also develop from occlusion of the blood vessels in the kidney. These may be seen in people with chronic, irregular heart beats.
